Edit a role's defaults or create a new class
Change what a standard role can do, or build a brand-new class from scratch.
Standard roles like Project Manager or Office Staff come with sensible default permissions - but you can now edit those defaults company-wide, or create an entirely new class with its own permission grid.
- 1Open Settings, go to Team & Users, and find the Roles & Classes section.
- 2Pick a standard role and check/uncheck view, create, edit, delete for each screen - this changes the default for everyone with that role (unless a person has their own override).
- 3Click "New class" to create a custom role. Give it a name, then set its permissions the same way; it starts out with Worker-level (view-only) access.
- 4The new class shows up alongside the standard roles when inviting someone or changing a teammate's role.
- 5To remove a custom class, reassign anyone still on it first, then delete it.
THE OWNER. One person owns the account - normally whoever set the company up. They are marked "Owner" in Team & Users, and no admin can remove them, change their role, or take their access away. Every other admin can be removed by any admin, so the owner is the account's floor: there is always somebody who cannot be locked out.
To hand ownership over - if the owner is leaving, say - the owner clicks "Make owner" beside another admin. It only goes to somebody who is already an admin, and only the current owner can do it. Afterwards they are a normal admin and can be removed like anyone else.
A TICK OPENS A SCREEN. Whatever you grant is reachable by the people who have it, including field workers - they land in Field Mode, but a screen their role allows will open for them rather than bouncing. If you do not want the crew in a screen, leave it unticked; that is the whole control.
Admin access can never be edited or removed - this keeps at least one person always able to manage the account.
