Clock in and out (Time Clock)
Punch in/out with a timestamp, GPS check, and a selfie - and what the location warnings mean.
- 1Open the project and go to the Time Clock tab.
- 2Punch in - it records the time, a GPS location check, and a selfie.
- 3Punch out at the end of the shift the same way.
WHAT THE LOCATION CHECK DOES. SyteNav compares where you are against where the job site is, and flags the punch for review if you are more than 250m away. That needs BOTH coordinates, so there are two different reasons it can come back unchecked - and they are fixed by different people.
"THIS JOB HAS NO MAP LOCATION YET" means the job has no pin on the map - the address may be missing, incomplete (a street with no town or ZIP cannot be looked up), or a placeholder like "1 Test Lane". Nothing is wrong with your phone. Whoever manages the job fixes it in project settings, either by picking the address from the suggestions or by setting the pin by hand. Until then every punch on that job is flagged, because there is nothing to check against.
The Time Clock tab now says so at the top when a job has no usable pin, and the line under the punch button reads "Location recorded, not checked" rather than "Location checked". If you are seeing a whole column of flagged punches on one job, that is almost always why.
"YOUR PHONE DID NOT PROVIDE A LOCATION" is the other one, and it says which: location turned off for SyteNav (allow it in Settings > Privacy > Location Services), no signal - usually indoors or in a basement - or it simply took too long. SyteNav will accept a fix from the last few seconds rather than insisting on a fresh one, so stepping outside for a moment is normally enough.
Managers review timesheets and approve or reject entries, then export hours for the week. A flagged punch is not a rejected one - it is only marked for someone to look at.
A punch is never blocked by a location problem. You are always clocked in or out; the location is recorded as best it can be and the reason is stored with it.
