Change a project's settings
Edit any project detail after setup - name, address, status, billing method, square footage.
Open a project and click the gear icon in the header (next to Team and Share). Everything you set when you created the job can be changed here.
- 1Project name, address, and Owner / Client.
- 2Project Type - Residential, Commercial, or Mixed Use.
- 3Status - Planning, Active, On Hold, Completed, Cancelled. (Faster from the status badge in the project header - see "What Active means".)
- 4Start and end dates.
- 5How you bill the job - Simple invoicing or Progress billing (AIA), plus default retainage % on AIA jobs.
- 6Interior and Exterior Sq Ft, which power the cost-per-square-foot breakdown on the Budget tab.
- 7Unit and Floor, on jobs that sit inside a building (created by Bulk Add).
Two of these change what you see. Status: a job in Planning shows the shorter preconstruction menu. Billing method: AIA jobs get Pay Apps, simple jobs get Bills from subs and Billing the client. The tabs update as soon as you save - no need to reload.
Switching billing method does not delete anything. Invoices or pay applications already created stay on the job; only which tabs are shown changes.
For the address, start typing the street and pick a suggestion - city, state and ZIP fill in for you, and the job gets map coordinates. Typing them by hand works too.
