Messages with a sub about a quote
A sub can ask you about a quote request from their link, once they have a free account. You answer from Quotes & Bids.
Every sub you invite to a quote request has a conversation with you about it - one per sub, so what you tell one bidder is never shown to another.
- 1The sub opens their quote link and, under the request, presses Create free account.
- 2We email them a link at the address the request was sent to. They set a password and land back on the quote, with the message box open.
- 3They write. You are told in the bell (and on your phone, if you use the app), and the invite row on Quotes & Bids says "waiting on your reply".
- 4Open the row's messages - the link under their name, or Messages from the dots - and answer. They get your reply by email.
WHY THEY NEED AN ACCOUNT TO MESSAGE BUT NOT TO QUOTE. Pricing works from the link alone and still does. A conversation needs somebody to tell when the answer comes back, and a link has no person behind it. The account is free.
WHAT THE FREE ACCOUNT CAN DO. It is a vendor account: the sub sees the quote requests and jobs they are invited to, and nothing else. They cannot create jobs of their own. It is never charged and has no trial.
A sub who already has a SyteNav account just signs in from their link - "I already have an account" - and the conversation opens.
The account goes to the address the request was sent to. If somebody else at their company already has a SyteNav account, the new person is asked to sign in or be added by them, so a forwarded quote link is not a way into somebody else's account.
