Questions from your client
Your client can ask about any selection, invoice or payment request - or the job in general - from their link, and you answer from the app.
Everything on the client's link can be asked about: each selection ("Ask us a question about this"), each invoice and payment request, each change order you shared with them, and the job itself ("Questions about the job?" at the bottom). They need no account - the link is who they are - and they can only ask about what their link already shows them, so a draft invoice or a request you have not sent is invisible to questions too.
- 1A question arrives in the bell and by email for whoever your company routes it to: selection questions to the people who handle selections, invoice and payment questions to Billing the client, general ones to whoever handles the client link. Change it under Settings > Notifications > Who gets told.
- 2The row says the client is waiting - "client asked a question" on a selection, "Client asked a question - reply" on an invoice, a line on a payment request - and the job's Overview counts every question still waiting on a reply, so nothing sits on a tab nobody opened.
- 3Answer where the question is: open the selection, use "Client questions" in an invoice's ... menu, "Questions" on a payment request, "Client questions" on an open change order, or the thread on the Overview for general questions.
- 4Your reply is saved there and emailed to the address on the client's customer record, with a button back to their link. If there is no address, or the job has not been shared yet, the app says so - the reply still waits on their link.
You can start a conversation too - type into any thread and the client gets it by email. A link that gets forwarded cannot be used to flood you: the client side is capped at 30 messages an hour per job.
