Mark equipment as needing repair

Flag a broken tool wherever it is, send it away to be fixed, and mark it repaired.

NEEDS REPAIR IS A FLAG, NOT A LOCATION. A saw with a loose guard can still be on a job in somebody's hands, so marking it does not move it. It gets a red Needs repair badge and the problem is written under it on the list.

  1. 1On the Equipment page, open the dots on the item and pick Mark needs repair. Say what is wrong.
  2. 2Or flag it as it comes back: Check in, then Needs repair.
  3. 3To take it out of service while it is fixed, pick Send for repair (it has to be checked in first). It shows as In for repair and cannot be checked out.
  4. 4When it is fixed, press Mark repaired. If it was away it goes back on the shelf as Available; if it was only flagged, the flag comes off and it stays where it is.

The Needs repair count at the top of the page is a filter - tap it to see only what needs fixing.

Anybody who can check equipment out can mark it needs repair, because the person using it is who finds the problem. Sending it away, marking it repaired and retiring it are for whoever manages equipment.

Done with something for good? Retire it from the dots. It stays on the list with its history, out of the counts, and Bring back puts it into service again.
